The Ariens® Platinum 28 RapidTrak SHO is a heavy-duty two-stage snow blower built for homeowners who need maximum traction, serious snow-moving capacity and dependable performance through demanding winter conditions. Powered by a 369cc Ariens AX® engine producing 17 ft-lbs of gross torque, it combines a 28-inch clearing width with Ariens' Super High Output impeller system to tackle deep snow, packed drifts and large residential properties.
Ariens' RapidTrak™ system is one of the standout features of the Platinum 28 RapidTrak SHO. The adjustable track system delivers excellent traction on snow-covered surfaces, uneven terrain and inclines while maintaining the maneuverability needed around driveways and other obstacles. Operators can adjust the track position to suit different conditions, giving the machine additional versatility when winter weather gets difficult.
The 28-inch clearing width and 21-inch housing height allow the machine to take large bites out of deep snowfall. A 14-inch serrated steel auger breaks through packed snow before feeding it into the 14-inch three-blade Super High Output impeller, which sends snow from approximately 3 to 55 feet away.
Ariens Auto-Turn™ steering helps make this large tracked snow blower easier to control. The system automatically responds as you change direction, allowing the machine to turn naturally without requiring separate steering triggers.
The Disc-O-Matic® drive system provides six forward speeds and two reverse speeds, letting you match your ground speed to snow depth and conditions. Whether you're working through a light accumulation or slowing down for a deep drift, the Platinum 28 RapidTrak SHO gives you control over your clearing pace.
A 200-degree Quick-Turn chute and remote in-dash deflector provide convenient control over where snow is discharged. Adjust the chute direction and throwing angle from the operator position to keep snow away from vehicles, walkways, buildings and previously cleared areas.
Cold winter conditions are made more comfortable with standard heated handgrips, while an LED headlight improves visibility when clearing early in the morning or after dark. The 120V electric start provides quick starting in cold weather, with recoil starting available as a backup.
Heavy-duty construction includes a cast-iron gear case, serrated steel auger, steel adjustable scraper bar and reversible steel skid shoes.
